Welcome at La Moulinal

Welcome to La Moulinal! We hope you'll quickly feel at home and enjoy a relaxing holiday.
Please report any problems or defects as soon as possible. This way, we can quickly resolve them. To help you get started, we've compiled a few practical tips and how-to's below.

Kitchen equipment maison d'Isabel

Most appliances have been recently updated. You can find the user manuals in the cupboard in the laundry room.
- The induction cooktop with integrated extractor (Bora): To clean this induction cooktop after use, apply a little dishwashing liquid or VitroClen to a soft sponge or paper towel. Then polish with a paper towel. Never use the green side of the sponge to avoid scratches.
The extractor hood in the center consists of a black grille and a stainless steel grease filter underneath. Both can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher (once a week is sufficient).
- The breakfast cupboard: Please leave the cupboard doors open, as the locking system still needs to be optimized.

External lighting - pool lighting

On warm evenings, it's wonderful to relax around the pool, in the pool house, or on the pétanque court for a game. The outdoor lighting can be controlled from the pool house and the atelier (barn).
The switches inside, next to the pivoting door in the orangerie (dining room) of Maison d'Isabel, also control some of the outdoor lighting: - lighting the facade of the atelier and pool house - lighting around the pool - outdoor orangerie lighting.
Perhaps you'd like a late-night dip in the pool? The underwater lights in the pool can only be controlled via a switch on the facade of the technical room.

Covering the pool

The pool is heated by a heat pump (automatic, not manually adjustable).
Pool use in spring: For energy conservation reasons, may we ask that you close the roller cover as much as possible when you are not swimming and the sun is not shining? It is especially important to close it at night.
Pool use in summer: When the nights are cool and the pool water is not above 28°C, it is recommended to cover the pool at night to minimize nighttime temperature loss. During a hot summer period, and especially when the water temperature is at 28 °C or higher, please leave the pool open during the night.
Closing the roller cover: First, make sure there are no toys or air mattresses in the water. Turn the key to the indicated position. You must hold the key in position when opening or closing the roller cover. Follow the movement carefully to ensure the roller cover moves in the correct direction. You can guide the roller cover slightly by hand if it threatens to get stuck near the skimmers.

Use of the summer kitchen

The tap water from the outdoor kitchen is suitable for drinking and rinsing vegetables. Never pour dirty water down the sink, nor any dish soap, etc. Feel free to use the herbs from the herb garden and the tomatoes on the west side of the carport. After using the BBQ, clean the grill as soon as possible (ideally while it's still warm) with the brush.

Tips for a pleasant indoor climate, with an eye for sustainable energy use

Both houses are capable of keeping the heat out and keeping it pleasantly cool indoors, even on very hot days.
To this end, it's important to minimize direct sunlight on the windows during the day. You can do this by keeping the south-facing shutters closed. In the orangery of Maison d'Isabel, you can partially close the wooden sliding panels to block out the sun's heat. Keep doors and windows closed as much as possible during hot days to keep the heat out, especially when running the air conditioning.
Ventilate the houses early in the morning, late in the evening, and at night. You can sleep comfortably with the windows open, as all bedrooms are equipped with mosquito screens.
The Velux roof windows and their roller shutters in Maison d'amis can only be operated via remote control! So, leave the mosquito screen closed and do not attempt to open the window manually! In the event of a technical problem, please contact the manager or owner immediately

Sorting garbage and taking it to the garbage containers

Garbage gets recycled as much as possible: glass, paper, plastics,... go into different containers to get recycled.. More details about what gets recycled can be found on the information sheet on the fridge.
The closest place to bring your recycled and residual waste is on the road between La Moulinal and the church of Pompiac. To open the container for the residual waste, you'll need the blue badge that you find at your keychain of the house.
This badge allows you to open the dumpster hatch. Each time this bin is opened, a fee equal to 60 liters of waste (the capacity of the opening) will be charged. This equates to a residual waste bag filled 3/4 full. The rental price includes 4 residual waste collections per week (total of all badges). Any additional collections will be deducted from the deposit (€3 per additional collection).
Please do not leave any trash behind when leaving La Moulinal! Thank you for your efforts to care for the environment.

Organising your leaving

Contact Debbie the day before your departure to schedule a checkout time. Please respect the checkout deadline stated in the rental agreement, as this will allow the cleaning service just enough time to get the property spotless again during the changeover. Clean the used kitchen appliances and clean the kitchen surfaces. Wash the dishes and put them back in the cupboards. Do not leave any trash on the property or in the houses! Return everything as you found it on the first day (garden furniture, pétanque balls, etc.). Additional work due to failure to comply with the above may be charged.
